Irish Cheer

Today, St Patricks Day, I am reminiscing on the many encounters I have had with Irish people over the years.

I think that they have got to be the friendliest people on earth.  From the couple in Dublin that bought The Ex and myself lollipops and taught us the words to songs, to the mum with kids in Killarney who stopped me to ask if I needed directions to the lovely old man at the bus station in Limerick who told me I was far too pretty to be an Australian.

The encounter that stands out the most though is when I was in Liverpool, England in 2006, walking around the streets by myself, after the guy I was seeing ditched me and a close friend had died in the same week.  Three lovely Irish boys took me out on the town, bought me drinks made me laugh and then at the end of the night put me in a taxi and sent me back to my hostel, all without cracking on to me.

I love the Irish.  Nearly as much as I love the Scottish (who are grumpier by temperament but MUCH sexier)

Bundy Night Out

Bundaberg. Rum Capital of Australia and home of… well not much else.

I am so glad that I don’t live in a country town like that.  I’m quite sure that I would go insane.  I mean, it was a Sunday and the main street was DEAD. Absolutely dead. And the heat, well it gave me an indication of what the poor turkey must feel like roasting at Christmas time.

One thing it does have though is some brilliant pubs and men galore.  If there is one thing I love more than anything, is a night out in a busy pub with some awesome music, dancing the night away. Which Smash and I did with great enthusiasm.

Our final destination for the evening was the Central Hotel, which had a massive beer garden and a very talented guitarist performing. Not only was he talented but so extremely attractive that every time he looked at me I thought I was going to orgasm. Every women on that dance floor was ignoring the (also extremely attractive) other men that were vying for attention.. all eyes were on this guitar player. Big muscly arms with tattoos, hair up in a beanie, twinkly eyes a cheeky smile.. the only thing that would have made him sexier would have been a Scottish accent.

There is just something about a man who is musical.  In fact, a man who has any sort of skill, cooking, building, singing, comediennes, any sort of musical ability, turns me on.

All in all, would go back to Bundy purely to see that guitarist play.. but that is probably the only draw card.

It’s nice to be home.

Top 5 Celebrity Crushes

I have never been overly into girly celebrity crushes.  I was never into Jonathan Taylor Thomas or that guy from Dawsons Creek like other girls were.  However, recently I have found myself pouring over magazines and getting a bit hot under the collar watching a few celebrity men. Here are my Top 5 (In no particular order)

1. Robert Pattinson.  Yes, I may be one of millions of girls who also fancy him, but his dirty scruffiness and constant angsty looks make me want to lick him all over.  I am also unashamedly addicted to the off-screen love story between him and Kristen Stewart.  Am torn between loving them together and angry because he should be with me (obviously).  Plus I love listening to his native British voice.

2. Gerard Butler. Everything about him is damned sexy.  The accent, body, eyes, smile.  You know he’d be a bastard and still you want to strip your clothes off and let him have his way with you.

3. James McAvoy.  Another Scottish lad, so yummy in ‘Wanted’. And seems like he would be a nice boy.  Happily married unfortunately.

4. Russell Brand.  Yes I know this is ridiculous. But I would like to be a notch on this mans belt.  He has charisma.

5. Rupert Grint. A new and surprising addition to my Top 5 Celebrity Crush list.  After seeing the latest HP film, he’s grown up into a very handsome young man, and I wouldn’t mind introducing him to the ways of the world.

So reviewing my list, I apparently like British men with nice accents (not Russell Brands accent though).  Another reason to move back to the UK perhaps??
